Our Journey through the history of Machine Embroidery
1955 – Antex Broderie is founded.
Elmar and Lotte Heinzle founded Antex Broderie. After exploring the market of bridal, lingerie, eveningwear, babywear, childrenswear and home textiles Antex quickly establishes itself. It become a major player in the word of Schiffli machine embroidery, in the border region between Austria and Switzerland.
1996 – The next generation.
Elmar and Lotte’s sons Rainer and Daniel take over the management of the company together with their sisters Elke and Sigrid. Antex is now offering two collections of three types of embroideries – Broderie Anglaise, Guipure and Embroidered Tulle – primarily to ladies and childrens’ wear fashion labels across Europe, the US and Australia. Antex soon distinguished itself from its competitors specialising in cotton fabrics and a simplistic, plain and often graphic linear embroidery design.
2010 – The third generation.
Rainer’s daughter Martina joins the company to bring Marketing and Sales to a next level. With custom developments Antex is changing their product range and customer relationships, becoming an innovative embroidery supplier.
2015 – A move towards Sustainable Sourcing in Machine Embroidery.
Antex pledges to limit the environment impact of their production. They begin to develop more and more organic cotton Broderie and focus their efforts on sustainable materials and production.
2018 – Martina creates AnBella Designs.
Martina notices that Antex has a large inventory of excess materials from past designs and product revisions. She decides to create AnBella Designs. A brand that provides small fashion labels and individuals with high-quality machine embroidery that Antex is known for, while also advancing the family’ mission for sustainability by up-cycling materials and making Deadstock accessible to everyday consumers.
