2. What we collect, and why<\/strong><\/h2>\n

2.1 Visiting the website<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Whenever a page of this website is opened, the web server records the request in a log file. This normally includes the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and the browser and operating system used. This is necessary to deliver the page to you and to keep the site available and secure.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.2 Ordering from the shop<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our shop runs on WooCommerce, which is installed on this website. When you place or attempt to place an order we collect your name, billing address, delivery address, email address, telephone number, the items you ordered, the delivery option chosen and the payment method used, together with your VAT number if you order as a business.<\/span><\/p>\n

Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details are entered into Stripe’s payment form and are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. We do receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and non-identifying metadata such as the last four digits and the card brand.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you create a customer account we also store your user name, your password in encrypted form, and your order history.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.3 Contacting us through a form<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The enquiry and contact forms on this site are built with Contact Form 7. Besides sending us an email, every submission is also stored in the database of this website<\/strong>, including the name, email address, telephone number and message you entered, and the date and time of the submission. We store submissions so that we can retrieve and answer earlier enquiries.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.4 Newsletter and emails about your order<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We use Brevo (Sendinblue) to send our newsletter and the transactional emails connected to your order, such as order confirmations. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address and any name or other details you give us are stored in Brevo. Brevo records whether an email was delivered and opened and whether links in it were clicked. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.5 Analytics and measurement<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4.<\/strong> We use Google Tag Manager to load the measurement tags used on this site, and Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the shop, which pages and products they look at, and which routes lead to a purchase. Google Analytics 4 receives a pseudonymous identifier, your IP address, the pages you view and events such as adding an item to the basket. Purchase events are sent to Google from our own server rather than from your browser. These services are provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n

PostHog.<\/strong> We use PostHog to understand how visitors use our shop, so we can make it easier to find and buy what you are looking for. PostHog is operated by PostHog, Inc. We use its European service, and all data is stored on servers in Frankfurt, Germany. No data is transferred outside the EU.<\/span><\/p>\n

PostHog records which pages you visit, which products you view, and which buttons and links you use. It also records a replay of your visit so we can see where the shop is confusing. Everything you type is hidden before the recording is saved, and we do not record at all on the checkout, account or order-confirmation pages. We never receive your name, address, email address or payment details through PostHog.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is done on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving our shop (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data is kept for 12 months.
